This year, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, the MCSO is part of a call to action that will change the
calendar and help make history. Help us celebrate a day of giving – when charities, families, businesses
and communities all come together for #GivingTuesday – a movement to benefit nonprofit
organizations and kick-off the holiday giving season.
Our #GivingTuesday goal
Our goal at the MCSO is to raise $5,000 by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, December 1! Funds raised during the
#GivingTuesday campaign will help us bring classical music to more music-lovers throughout Macomb,
Oakland and Wayne counties, including to schools through our Classicalpalooza concerts, giving students
a broad introduction to many well-loved classical pieces, and our renowned annual youth concert which
helps bring classical music to thousands of kids each year.
The MCSO’s mission is to support and advance an orchestra of professional quality for cultural
enrichment, entertainment, and youth education. Help us celebrate our 43rd season and expand our
musical offerings: support us now by donating @ CrowdRise!
#GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give—the 2015 iteration will be
held on December 1, 2015. This effort harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of
partners—nonprofits, businesses and corporations as well as families and individuals—to transform how
people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. #GivingTuesday inspires people to
take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the
charities and causes they celebrate and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday harnesses the power
of social media to create a global moment dedicated to giving around the world.
